Next time you’re in Tallinn’s Dome Church, pause at Admiral Adam Johann von Krusenstern tomb: he was an explorer, member of the Czar’s Court, survivor of political intrigue, scientist, mariner and baron. This film channels Krusenstern’s era through his personal story and the tumultuous times during which he lived; in 1803-1806 he led the Russian Empire’s first expedition around the world and his Atlas of the South Seas was relied upon by mariners for 100 years.

Film räägib Eestist pärit esimese Vene ümbermaailmasõitja admiral Adam Johann von Krusensterni huvitavast ja seiklusrikkast elust. Eesti tuntud ajaloolased Urmas Dresen, David Vseviov, Jüri Kuuskemaa ja Erki Tammiksaar aitavad mõista ning lahti mõtestada olukordi ja aega, milles A. J. von Krusenstern elas. Filmi jutustaja Raivo Järvi meelest on Krusenstern mängufilmi väärt.
