In the old days it took an entire village to marry a couple. The island of Kihnu is one of the few places where all those elaborate traditions survive. This film is a documentary record of a disappearing way of life - an unadorned, direct and close-up witness of what it takes to become betrothed on Kihnu. The film is a prequel to the EstDocs opening film “Kihnu Wedding” but stands on its own, providing a broader view of island life and work, including, for example, crafts that are purely practical as opposed to nostalgic.

„Kihnu Kosjad“toob meieni Kihnu saare pulma-eelsed traditsioonid enam vähem tervikuna filmilindile jäädvustatult. Nende seas on filmi vaatajale kaasa toodud haarav ja intiimne külaskäik tõesti haruldaselt ajatule kohale kus vanad rahvuskombed äkki tulevad teos- ja mõistevõimaliselt ellu.
