Estonian independence was quickly followed by an incredibly successful monetary reform a year later in 1992. The process resulted in situations that were humorous in some cases, naïve in others, and harsh in most. It is clear now that the quick growth of the economy hasn’t solved all problems, and that not everyone in the independent and democratic republic is capable of being “the master of their own ship”.

Käesolev film jutustab sellest, kuidas Eesti pärast taasiseseisvumist ja edukat rahareformi 1992. aastal oma majanduse krooni toel Idast Läände, vabasse turumajandusse pööras. See toimus vahel lõbusalt, vahel naiivselt, sageli väga karmilt. Tänaseks on selge, et majanduse kiire areng ei ole lahendanud kõiki probleeme ning ka iseseisvas ja demokraatlikus riigis pole mitte igaüks oma õnne sepp.
